The Department of Physical Sciences and Mathematics (DPSM) celebrated its annual Science Week last April 28-May 2, 2025 with a series of activities with the theme, \u201cUnlocking Tomorrow Today: Big Data, A.I. and Futures Thinking.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was formally opened with a seminar, with Dr. Ricky B Nellas, Executive Director of the UP Intelligent Systems, as the guest speaker. It was followed by the annual Science Camp, a science fair where DPSM students showcase brilliant science exhibits. This year\u2019s Science Camp winners are Princess Bianca Angela C Ang, Callista A. Barbecho, Obie Sean Kenzie D. Go, Alyssa Erin J. Paa, BS Computer Science freshmen with their \u201cMemaSched Smart Planner\u201d, a digital planner that they developed to help students study better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the week, an e-Sports festival was conducted. Games that were played were Moble Legends: Bang Bang, Blockblast, Chess, and Scrabble. The overall champions are the freshmen students of DPSM, batch 2028.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another activity was the Qwizzardy quiz show where undergraduate students from UP Manila battle it out in a quiz show about science and math topics. This year\u2019s Qwizzardy champions are from the Intarmed block. They are Ryckxeian Isaiah A. Alcubilla, Joshua G. Buensuceso, and Carlos Manuel C. Eusoya. Second and third place winners are from the BS Computer Science, and BS Biology blocks, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The DPSM week was capped off by the Variety Show held on May 2, 2025. During the show, students and faculty members showcased their talents in singing, dancing, and comedy. This year\u2019s variety show champions are the seniors, batch 2025. It was their batch\u2019s second win in the Variety Show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
