{"id":2073,"date":"2025-01-03T11:21:06","date_gmt":"2025-01-03T03:21:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dpsm.cas.upm.edu.ph\/?p=2073"},"modified":"2025-01-03T11:22:00","modified_gmt":"2025-01-03T03:22:00","slug":"bs-biochemistry-alumnus-wins-best-poster-award-in-bangkok","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dpsm.cas.upm.edu.ph\/index.php\/2025\/01\/03\/bs-biochemistry-alumnus-wins-best-poster-award-in-bangkok\/","title":{"rendered":"BS Biochemistry Alumnus Wins Best Poster Award in Bangkok"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Mr. John Kevin Ceasar Palay, a 2024 graduate of the BS Biochemistry program, received the Best Poster Presentation Award (Honorable Mention) at the Joint International Tropical Medicine Meeting 2024 held &nbsp;in Bangkok, Thailand last December 11-13, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Out of 84 poster presenters, Palay is one of the six recipients of the Best Poster Presentation Award (Honorable Mention) for his study \u201c<em>Salmonella enterica<\/em> subsp. <em>enterica<\/em> Detection via Colorimetric Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification (cLAMP) Assay Targeting <em>Salmonella<\/em> Invasion Protein A (sipA) Gene.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The study is a collaboration between the ChemBiochem Unit of DPSM-UP Manila, Natural Sciences Research Institute, and Manila Healthtek Inc. Congratulations to Mr. Palay and to his thesis advisers Ms. Joanne O. Ancajas and Ms. Ciara Christianne Y.
