Four Teaching Assistants Help DPSM Faculty Members

Four Teaching Assistants (T.A.) are currently employed by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs to help faculty members of the Department of Physical Sciences and Mathematics (DPSM). They are Mr. Vidal Villanueva Jr., Ms. Shekinah Sophia De Guzman, Ms. Maria Christina Chavez, and Mr. Neil Tristan Sacayanan. DPSM professors and lecturers benefit from teaching assistants by having access to a diverse range of skills and experiences. The T.A.s can also provide additional support to students during lecture and laboratory classes. Moreover, T.A.s can also provide support to faculty members in marking exams and other assessments, providing a quicker feedback mechanism to students. Overall, having T.A.s allow DPSM professors to focus more on teaching and less on administrative tasks.

The T.A.s are enrolled in Masters programs in UP Manila or UP Diliman. They are required to work six hours per week, and are assigned to a faculty-in-charge.
