Two BS Biochemistry alumni won citation awards during their poster presentation at the 52nd Annual Scientific Convention of the Philippine Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (PSBMB) on December 2–5, 2025 held at Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija.
Mr. Sean Carlo Palomares (batch 2025) and Mr. Angelo Alcantara (batch 2024) won the Best Poster-Citation Award (Environment and Biodiversity category) for their studies: “Dose-dependent response in Botrytis cinerea to copper and varying expressions of CCC2 and LCC2 genes” and “Genomic, phenotypic and genetic characterization of heavy metal tolerance and heavy metal removal properties of Pediococcus acidilactici 3G3 and Lactiplantibacillus plantarum BS25”, respectively.
The convention brought together scientists, faculty members, students, and researchers dedicated to advancing the country’s capacity in biochemistry and molecular biology research. Congratulations to our BS Biochemistry alumni and to their faculty adviser, Dr. Ma. Constancia Carrillo.
