Dr. John Paul Bustillo of the Department of Physical Sciences and Mathematics was awarded the 2025 In Touch with Excellence Award by the Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) during a recognition program held on October 7, 2025, at The Blue Leaf Cosmopolitan. The award is for completing his Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Radiation Physics at the Centre for Medical Radiation Physics of the University of Wollongong, Australia. Notably, he earned his PhD degree with Examiners’ Commendation for Outstanding PhD Thesis under the DOST-SEI Foreign Graduate Scholarship Program.
The event celebrated the outstanding achievements of DOST-SEI’s scholars with the event theme: “Karunungang taglay sa bayan iaalay”. The annual awarding ceremony is an event that honors scholars who have demonstrated exceptional academic excellence by graduating with Latin honors or successfully completing advanced degrees under the various DOST-SEI scholarship programs.
