Dr. Vincent Peter C. Magboo is a Professor at the Department of Physical Sciences and Mathematics, College of Arts and Sciences. In his 38 years of service, he has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication to advancing research in data science, artificial intelligence (AI), and health informatics.
Dr. Magboo’s work represents a groundbreaking approach to solving complex medical challenges, particularly in the areas of diagnostic accuracy, personalized treatment plans, and predictive analytics in clinical settings. His interdisciplinary efforts provided critical insights that shapes future advancements in medical diagnostics and treatment as well as offer new directions for clinical research and underscore the potential of AI to revolutionize healthcare.
These contributions have elevated UP Manila’s standing as the leading Health Sciences Center and enhanced the visibility of our university on the global stage. Dr. Magboo’s work exemplifies forward-thinking and impactful research which has earned him the Gawad Chancellor for Outstanding Researcher. Thus, he is awarded the 2024 Gawad Chancellor for Outstanding Researcher.
